Swiss National Team Member Dominik Meichtry‘s Swim for Japan video. Swim for japan was established to help raise money for the victims of the japan earthquake and tsunami. They sell swim caps and all of the money from the proceeds will go to help out the victims of the japan natural disasters.

Triathlon Swimming Workout

Last week one of the local Masters swimmer had a friend visiting who’s into Triathlon. He started out last year and I gave him a couple private lessons back then. So when he came back last week, he asked me if I could come up with a “triathlon” specific workout for him. There’s probably no such thing as a triathlon specific swimming workout other than actually being out in the open water. Ian Thorpe training in Tenero

Aussie super swimmer Ian Thorpe who recently announced his comeback to competitive swimming for the 2012 London Olympic Games will be training at the Swiss Swimming National Training Base in Tenero under coach Guennadi Touretski. Here’s the link to post on the Swiss  Swimming website.

Get Better, Hasler – Princeton Swimming

Some of you might know that NCAA Swimming Championships are just around the corner over here in the United States. NCAA’s is one of the fastest and most competitive meet with a total team focus.

Just recently, Princeton University won at the men’s Ivy League conference championships, despite being one swimmer down. Freshman Daniel Hasler was unable to swim in the meet, spending the time the hospital. The result of this unfortunate situation is a lip-synching video of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” of the men’s swim team to show their support and team spirit.

Swim Workouts Manatee Masters Week #7

I’ve been coaching the Fighting Manatee Masters Team for two mornings last week. The group worked they’re way up to workouts over 3000m since last summer and have a strong group going every other morning. The first workout was aerobic and mostly freestyle oriented whereas the second workout had a strong IM warming up mixed with some hypoxic work for the main part.
