NCAA: Adrian breaks American Record in 100 Free
World Team Member Nathan Adrian, swimming for the University of California, broke his own American Record set at the Pac-10 Championships as a leadoff for Cal’s 400 FR with a 41.08 in the Championships final.
NCAA: Adrian breaks 50 Free American Record twice
World Team Member Nathan Adrian, swimming for the University of California, broke his own American Record set at the Pac-10 Championships with a 18.76 leadoff for Cal’s 200 FR during the first day of the 2009 NCAA Swimming Championships. Adrian returned just a few minutes later with the win and another American Record in the final of the 50-yard free with an 18.71.

The Sport Aktuell, a sport show on the Swiss television, discussed the swimming suit situation with Swiss swimmers Dominik Meichtry and Flori Lang during the Swiss Championships on their edition of March 23rd.

There was some coverage of the Swiss Championships in Oerlikon on the Swiss television’s sport shows. On March 20th during the Sport Aktuell “Schwimmen: Rekordflut auch an Tag zwei” as well as on March 22nd during the Sport Panorama “Schwimmen: Schweizermeisterschaften in Zürich“.
The AAU Sullivan Award 2009
You can now vote for either Dara Torres or the 4x100m free U.S. relay team of Michael Phelps, Garrett Weber-Gale, Cullen Jones and Jason Lezak for the AAU Sullivan Award. Presented annually since 1930, the AAU Sullivan Award honors the outstanding amateur athlete based on leadership, character, sportsmanship and the ideals of amateurism in the United States.
IMU 2009
The 18th edition of the International Swim Meet in Uster is going to take place this Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1 at the Buchholz indoor pool. I will be attending the event not as an athlete this time but with my video camera for Floswimming to cover the meet. Sport Aktuell featuring Dominik Meichtry
The Sport Show of the Swiss Television met up with Dominik Meichtry and his girlfriend, US swimmer Jessica Hardy, at Zurich Airport before they went home to celebrate Christmas with Dominik’s family.
