World Team Member Nathan Adrian, swimming for the University of California, broke his own American Record set at the Pac-10 Championships with a 18.76 leadoff for Cal’s 200 FR during the first day of the 2009 NCAA Swimming Championships. Adrian returned just a few minutes later with the win and another American Record in the final of the 50-yard free with an 18.71.

The AAU Sullivan Award 2009
You can now vote for either Dara Torres or the 4x100m free U.S. relay team of Michael Phelps, Garrett Weber-Gale, Cullen Jones and Jason Lezak for the AAU Sullivan Award. Presented annually since 1930, the AAU Sullivan Award honors the outstanding amateur athlete based on leadership, character, sportsmanship and the ideals of amateurism in the United States.

Pac-10: Adrian sets American Record in 100 Free
World Team Member Nathan Adrian, swimming for the University of California, blasted the American record in the men’s 100-yard free as the relay leadoff of Cal’s second-place 400-yard free relay at the Pacific 10 Championships. Nathan just missing the national record of 41.62 set by another Race Clubber, Anthony Ervin, back in 2002 with a 41.64 during the individual 100-yard free championship finale but bounced back with a sterling time of 41.43 on the relay leadoff.

Adrian returned just a few minutes later to prove the time wasn’t a fluke with another 18.82 as the relay leadoff of the California 200 free relay.
